Leaving school at 15 and joining The Nat
Allan Band at The Palais in Ilford, London as a drummer Ross
played at many of the Mecca dance halls all over the UK doing many TV and
Radio broadcasts. Leaving Nat Allan after a year he joined The Sid
Phillips Band (famous for their Dixieland Style) and remained there for two
years, again doing many broadcast and UK tours, ROSS MITCHELL formed his own trio at the age of eighteen and during the next twenty five years worked in many British dance halls with the band steadily increasing in size. Ross recorded for EMI and Vogue recording Companies with three of his groups namely 'The Nocturnes' , 'The Track'. and 'Crème Caramel'. Ross Mitchell, His Band And Singers developed twenty five years ago when the band started to get involved with the Ballroom dancing Industry. They made three records for the Dansan recording company, many of these tracks are still available on a re-recording called 'Rainbow Collection' issued in 1989 on the Dance and Listen label. |

play for the majority of Major Championships in the U.K. and travel world wide to
Australia, America, China, Canada, Hong Kong, Russia and Europe providing their brand of music for Dance
Competitions, Shows and Grand Gala Balls. He has been presented with many awards connected with ballroom dancing including two Carl-Alan Awards, two Classique de Danse Awards and most recently at the occasion of the Star Ball in January 1998 the Ballroom Dancers Federation presented him with the highly acclaimed B.D.F. Music Award. When not involved with the dance world the band performs for many private parties, weddings and corporate functions. Ross Mitchell with his wife Cindy also run and control Dance And Listen Limited supplying Ballroom Dance music to dancers in over forty five countries. |
